direction的用法：
1.表示“方向”或“方面”，是可数名词，注意它与介词的搭配。
(1)与介词in搭配，表示“朝……方向”“在……方面”。如：
Shewentoffintheoppositedirection.她往相反的方向走了。
Continueinthisdirectionuntilyouseeasign.一直朝着这个方向走就看见指示牌了。
Ihavealreadymadeabigstartinthisdirection.我已在这方面有了良好的开端。
另外，注意inthedirectionof（朝……的方向，相当于towards）和insb’sdirection（朝某人的方向，相当于towardssb）这两个搭配。如：
Heiswalkinginthedirectionofthepolicestation.他正朝警察局的方向走去。
Heglancedinherdirectionandtheireyesmet.他朝她这个方向一看，俩人的眼睛相遇了。
(2)搭配：表示“从……方向”“从……方面”。如：
Nofurthersoundcamefromthatdirection.从那个方向没传来更多声音。
Whicheverdirectionhecamefromhestillarrivedatthesamepoint.不管他是从哪个方向来的，他依然到达了相同的地点。
2.表示“指导”或“指挥”，是不可数名词。表示“在……的指导下”，与介词under连用。如：
Weworkunderhisdirection.我们在他的指导下工作。
ThesinginggroupisunderthedirectionofMrLee.歌唱团由李先生指挥。
3.表示“指示”“指引”“用法说明”等，通常要用复数形式。如：
Hegaveusdirectionstotherailwaystation.他告诉我们去车站怎么走。
Followthedirectionsonthemedicinebottle.请按药瓶上的服用说明服药。
有时表示邮件上的“姓名地址”，此时也要用复数形式。如：
Theparcelwasreturnedtothesenderbecausethedirectionswereincorrect.包裹因姓名地址有误而被退给了寄件人。
